I was just curious if anyone knows a good sorce to get the estimated cash value of your equipiment. For instance, if you had a truck with a plow on it and a trailer for a skidsteer, you would be able to go to this "source" and find the value of it. Maybe this is crazy question, but I find myself needing to get the value of some equipment and don't know where to go. I would just post what the equipment is, but it is changing every day, in other words, I have been looking at different kinds of equipment every day. Any help is appreciated.

You're best bet, imo, is to find a business valuation analyst or an appraiser. A few years ago I was going through the due diligence process for purchasing another business. I had an appraiser give me a value on the equipment. You can also talk to dealers to see what the trade in value/market values are.
Also try Machinery Trader/Truck Paper. You can look up equipment and perhaps get an idea that way by comparing similar equipment.
Hope this helps.

The equipment trader has been handy, its just taking 10 skidsteers and using an approximation of the prices. Appraisers want money for their services, which is understandable, and I am sure the numbers would be more accurate. But the "for sale" items seems to get me pretty close. Thanks for your help..I forgot I posted this thread, as to the lack of replies, but then again, it isnt the average everyday question. Thanks again.
