Here's the LAST mod until next spring, they sound GREAT Scored the stacks for free from a weekend job (washing semis), ordered all the tubing and what not from Berubes. First day at school I must have blown smoke out at least a dozen times, everybody wanted to see them:D :burnout Only problem is I went 5" all the way back to cut expenses next year when I get injectors and make my turbo a hybrid. Truck is a little more doggy so I am going to run the original down pipe and just expand, it cools too fast. EGTs didn't really drop, and you can tell that the turbo isn't spinning nearly as fast as it should. It spools quicker, but it takes a lot of fuel to do it. Might be hittin the drag strip next weekend for a base line.

I think part of the problem is I fabbed up my own elbow off the turbo and it isn't exactly providing the best flow. That's coming off so I should be all right. Here is a little smoke flowing out of them, Mom had trouble working the digital camera:D

It looks like there is more coming out of the drive side one, but there isn't. They are pretty even. Here is part of the cloud I made. I know it isn't much, but I'm workin on it:D My whips are already black at the top:greenange

I put out a bit more than what's on the picture, Ma couldn't get it to snap at the right time. I get enough to black out headlights behind me:D For some reason a lot of people give me the bird when they try to pass me after I accidentaly give it too much throttle:greenange Lets just say I'm keeping it clean for this winter...

Plans next spring are 300 injectors, either 191 delivery valves or a 97 pump, and converting my turbo into a 35/40. I figure the smoke should really roll out then:D :D Don't want to go 370's I want to have some readings on the pyro!

If that pump is just taking up space, I s'pose I could help you out and at least run it a bit:greenange I'd even give you my little 160 for a deposit:burnout

Matt

If your going with injectors,I'd go with the 370's.More power and no need to upgrade later.Smoke isn't much different.I have a set of modded 300's now,and would have preferred the 370's.The 370's have much better off idle response than the 300's.The only reason I still have the 300's is they are a good match for my custom ground plate.

The DV's would be a good upgrade to,with your smaller 160 pump,so you don't run into problems with the bigger injectors.

Talk to John too.Don M has a whole bunch of new injectors, which would probably smoke (no pun intended ;)) the 370's,with better driveability, and much less smoke.

And....if you want to change pumps, talk to Piers,he knows exactly what works, trust me. ;)

All this PRESSURE :D We'll have to see how things go this winter. I'd like the 300's just because I have a chance to control the EGTs. The truck still has to pull trailers around in the summer, I don't know if I will be plowing with it next year up at college. Just have to wait and see how things pan out. I'm kickin' myself, a 215 pump went for just over 200 bucks on ebay a while back:headwall :headwall Then I could take mine off and either sell it or see if I can play with it some:greenange

There isn't that much EGT difference between the 300's and the 370's.Your still going to have to peddle it with your mods, and a small turbo.

Matt, skip the 300's. Id go with 370's or even 215s before 300's,they just run better and have a better smoke/power balance. Before you buy anything id call Don Morrison and see what he's got,his injectors are incredible, my truck picked up so much low end with his injectors,my "tighter" TC dont feel that tight anymore, and i can spin my tires now with zero boost, and a Dtt93% TC(1100RPM stall off boost). He builds a lot of 12V stuff, give him a call hes a good guy,and he wont steer you wrong. His injectors are light yrs ahead of what you can get from a cummins factory nozzle.
