Anyone tried both products? I am thinking about using one this year for my bulk salt . I have also been asked to look in to this by several co in the area due to the fact i have a large dry temp controled storage fac. They would be more interested in bags Any thoughts would help Thanks:)

We use both, and sell both. I have not noticed a huge difference between the two personally, and have actually stayed with Magic most of the time since its a little cheaper.

The main selling point for our customers, is you get all the advantages of Magic in Caliber, and the color is clear to light blue/green. If your customer doesn't like the brown, or, as in one case they accused the co of putting down sand, then it may be a better option.

I've used both, and I prefer Caliber, I found it to be more homogenious, it's more consistent in it's mixture, and my supplier says it's because the Caliber is a totally manufacturered product, compared to Magic which uses organic material (brewer's waste I think) as a base. The other big difference is that caliber seems to travel through the salt and is absorbed better then Magic. Since I don't pretreat my salt, I simply load the salt in the spreader and pour a measured amount of liquid over it, this characteristic is important to me. I notice very little if any difference in actual melting ability. This season we will try straight liquid Caliber 1000 in an anti-icing program
