OK, here it is...I picked it up last week. I am trying to decide whether to hang a plow on it or not... So far I like the Viking setup best, and maybe a tailgate spreader.

Nice truck John, What are the specs on it?
Where in Newtown are you? I work out of fairfield for an excavating contractor.

What engine/tranny did you go with? I've seen them come through with Mercedes engines recently.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it.
Steve, the motor is the MB, specifically the MBE900 w/260HP and 700LB/FT. The trans is the Eaton Fuller 8LL. It's pretty well loaded up with options, eg power cover, differential lock, etc.

:shades Now thats a real beauty. Are you gonna get it lettered up? Black and chrome looks good together. Also, no matter what color you do the lettering, it will look good because its on black. Good luck with it, very nice truck. :) Mike

Thanks Mike, Yeah I'll get it lettered up to match our other trucks, signs, etc.
I have another all black and the lettering is done in white with a gray shadow. It looks good. I have had people call us because our trucks look so clean and they can actually read the lettering.
Thanks again.

Yea, appearance definitely counts for something, I certainly think so anyway. Mike

Honestly, I haven't heard of either. We do our own excavation and site work. Years ago, I worked for Verdi Construction out of Bethel. They were still pretty small then, but they've grown quite a bit in the last few years, as we have too.
If you ever need a hand, feel free to contact me.

Hey John, how about some updated pics??
Nice truck!!! What GVW? What size body10'? what wheelbase? If you dont mind me asking how much did you pay? I am in the market for a 33,000 truck looking at Frieghtliner and Kenworth I like the look of Frieghtliner better also seems to have a short nose i like that seems more monuverable. I speced one out with a Cat C7 300hp 12 speed trans polished bumper grill twin smokestakes air hornes 12 front 21 rear with 15front suspension 30 rear suspension air ride cab and seat with a 12' hooklift body about $70,000.

Steve, I don't have any updated pics, because I never did anything else with it. I was hoping for a blade and spreader, but ran out of money. Maybe next year...
NAC, it's 33k, 10' body, with the MB motor. I too looked at the CAT motor and generally would prefer it, but the mileage, from what I hear, is much better, about double in the Mercedes v. Cat.
It is a great truck and I love it! Granted the hook-lifts are more expensive, also nice setups, but I paid $60k. It's pretty well spec'd, rides well, turns tight, etc.
Good luck with your selection.
