Hello all... this is my first post so I hope it works. I was checking the application guide on the BOSS Website and when you configuire a truck with a diesel engine, the Website states that the manufacture (Ford/Chevy) doesn't recommond a plow application.

As someone who is about to get into the snow plow biz, I don't want to make an expensive mistake. Are there problems with using a diesel for plowing? If so what are they?

And if there are no know problems why would BOSS have a plow for a Ford F250 w/ a 5.7 V8 and for the V10 but not the diesel?

Kind Regards,

Bola

I think you will find that the opinion here will override the manufactures engineers and say it will not be a problem at all .

You Can Run A Boss plow on a diesel they prob dont have it listed as recomended because of the added weight of the diesel engine. just upgrade your front springs to a little stiffer spring and put a plow on that wont push you over your front axle weight rating. the plow mounts for the diesel and the gassers are the same.

Unless you live in Donnelsville, you should have no problem running a plow on your diesel.:wink

LOL Pelican.

You beat me to it.

Check out the "what do you got" thread. I guess Donnesville is the place for snow in Ohio.
