For a couple years I've been blaming it on lack of sleep, not enough
sunshine, too much pressure from my job, earwax buildup, poor blood or
anything else I could think of. But now I found out the real reason I'm
tired is because
I'm overworked. Here's why:

a. The population of this country is 273 million.

b. 140 million are retired.

c. That leaves 133 million to do the work.

d. There are 85 million in school, which leaves 48 million to do the work.

e. Of this there are 29 million employed by the federal government, leaving
19 million to do the work.

f. 2.8 million are in the armed forces preoccupied with killing the
Taliban.

g. Which leaves 16.2 million to do the work.

h. Take from the total the 14,800,000 people who work for state and city
governments.

i. And that leaves 1.4 million to do the work.

j. At any given time there are 188,000 people in hospitals,

k. Leaving 1,212,000 to do the work.

l. Now, there are 1,211,998 people in prisons.

That leaves just two people to do the work.
You and me.

And there you are ..sitting on your ass, at your computer, reading jokes.
Nice, real nice

That was great!! Especially for anyone like me who is self employed and sees people standing around wasting time while they are at work!! I understand taking a coffee break- but should they last 8 hours or more?! LOL!! Keep 'em coming, we all need a little laughter now and then!!

this kind of goes with being overworked and wanting days off;)

So you want a few days off for leave. Let's take a look at what you are
asking for. There are 365 days per year available for work. There are 52
weeks per year in which you already have two days off per week, leaving 26l
days available for work. Since you spend l6 hours each day away from work,
you have used up 170 days, leaving only 91 days available for work. You
spend 30 minutes each day on coffee break that accounts for 23 days each
year, leaving only 68 days available to work. Witha one hour lunch period
each day, you have used up another 48 days leavingonly 22 days available for
work. You normally use 2 days each year on sick leave. This leaves only 20
days available for work. We give you 5 holidays per year, so your available
working time is down to 15 days. We generously give you l4 days vacation per
year which leaves you only 1 day available to work and we'll be damned if
you're going to take that day off.
