Welcome to the dark side Matt:cool: . I hope your liking your new bombs. How is the tranny doing with the newfound torque?

Man,it's about time ! :D

If you want some real power, take that plate out completely. omg

Did you get the low end set up OK ? A lot of guys tend to get the AFC housing too far forward,or go nuts on the starwheel for too much pre-boost fuel.It just makes for a smokey truck.

Hey Guys,

Good luck on the other side

and by the way I just noticed on one of the other diesel boards something that might interest you... its a chevy duramax running 793HP and around 1382 torque....

and I also saw # on the same site quote TDR for 886 hp....

IS beast a complete understatement????

just thought you would like to know what to aim for....

You know shoot for the stars... and with those kind of numbers... your almost there...

Well, the tranny was already on its last leg, and I just pulled a sled on Saturday, so now the TC is really hurtin, but I've got a Goerend Brothers to put in on Saturday:D I'm going to have a bit of extra cash, and depending on how this fall goes, I am thinking of trying out the stock turbo and HT3B combo. I can get an HT3B for $450, and we can plumb it at a friends shop, he's got all the fancy benders and everyting. For sure I am going to do stacks this fall, and the twins will have to wait till next spring probably. I hear good results from the combo, and the $$ part is a nice thing, also. I want to get some air into the motor so I can run a set of 300's and some delivery valves. Just a matter of :cash though. It seems like that's always the case for me...

W- I think I've got it dialed in pretty good. Idle is right on where it was before the springs. The plate is almost full forward, and so is the AFC housing. AFC is back a little more than the plate. Star Wheel has a couple clicks towards the engine. I get a nice little puff when I step on it, but I like the smoke, even thinking of getting more. At the truck pull I gave her way too much and spun the whole time, but it was fun!

crimedog...

as far as airflow goes you should go over to www.dieselplace.com and look up the air filter study

the best air filter by results shown there is AC delco... better than K & N,. afe, and puralator and a bunch of others....

Sounds like you got a good plan, the twins sound sweet. :D

I'm still trying to convince John he doesn't need twins,as he's gettin old,and needs to give them to me. ;)

If you want real airflow, get a BHAF,they flow REAL good, and look totally huge in the engine compartment.I have posted pics of my setup before.

I s'pose I could update my sig, I've already got egt & tranny temp, a BHAF (which is VERY nice to hear that turbo sing:D  ), and a staright pipe. With the set up right now I can't remember if I was at 1450 or 1500 degrees during the pull on saturday night. Seems pretty high to me, I am thinking of ordering a larger exhaust housing, probably a 14cm and maybe a larger compressor wheel, since my gov springs let me run higher I think it will work all right during a pull, but I don't know. I am going to see where the stacks put me. I want to come 4" off the turbo and split to 5 in the bed. That should help me out a lot. If I can get twins set up next spring, I am going to be a VEY happy camper! I am slooooooooowwwwwwwllllllly getting there...

Wait a minute, Chris- you and John are both getting old. Maybe I should get his twins:D :burnout I swear I won't add any more fuel if he gives them to me:shades :greenange

1400 or 1500 degrees is nothing to worry about for a short time.I wouldn't run it there continuosly though.

Mine only gets as high as 1600 with the race pump in place, and doesn't go any higher.Wait,my EGT gauge only goes to 1600.Oh well, what you don't know won't hurt ya right ? :)

I may be getting old,but not THAT old.I could handle the twins for another little while yet.Maybe then I'll pass them on to you.Judging by the last video,John isn't really using them anyways,or he wouldn't have that much smoke. ;)

Matt, dont bother with a 14 housing or different wheel, it isnt worth the drop in EGT per dollar. PM me for more info. I recommend going to either a full Hx40 or a hybrid 40, ,you can use either one later on for twins, then add the ht3b on the bottom to finish it off. The right Hx40 will hold up,you just got to know which one to use;).if your staying single charger and running it hard a B1 is the way to go.
