well guys i was looking at my truck a few days ago and decided it was time to get busy with the body work it needs. so on sunday me and my father took the pick up bed of and took the muffler off. The gas tanks are getting removed and i am sanding down the frame and repainting it. i am gonna rust proof the gas tanks as well. since i have the bed off i am gonna do the brake lines and buy new shocks. i am gonna do a lot of body work to the bed and get it as perfect as i can. because it is getting some rust i plan on rust proofing the bed as well.
if anybody has any tips for me or any suggestions please fell free. and yes i am taking pictures as i go:)

Well only tips I can think of is buy anti-size and use it on all threads that you take apart. That might be messy now but will pay off down the road should you keep the truck. Have fun working on it. Keep us posted!!

If you're replacing brake and fuel lines, use stainless tubing. It's a little more difficult to work with, but once you get them in, it's the last time you'll have to mess with it!

If you can find somewhere to do it sandblasting works really well for getting the frame nice and clean for painting not to mention that it is faster and generally does as good or better job than can be done by hand sanding... also while you have the truck stipped down check the frame and all the mounting points sush as the engine mounts for any signs of cracking and stress its alot easier to replace those while everythings striped down that haveing to do it later when the whole body is on the truck...

Check the fuel tank straps carefully , they are very prone to rust damage .

Do a Google search for American Designers for the fuel tanks and accessories, , they are very reasonable in cost and are exact duplicates of original.
