Need a new truck to replace my stolen K2500 4x4. I have found a GM 99 6.5 2500 SL Turbo Diesel Reg Cab with 99300km asking price is $22710 CANADIAN.
Is this a good truck or should i skip it and get into a newer Gas Extended or Crew cab?
The engine in this truck is not a Duramx, that dint come out til 01?
Thanks,
Dave.

what do those numbers convert to in American numbers?
miles & american dollars.
99000 miles and 22000 US dollars doesnt sound so hot, so really 99000 KM & 22000 CD dollars doesnt either. But thats just me.
There is ALWAYS a better deal somewhere. Good luck & sorry to hear about the theft of your truck.

Skip the 6.5 and and get a gas engine of that same era.

Need to know the US value to say.
The diesel is a better choice than the gas motors, I have had both and the power and fuel economy is great. Around here reg cabs are not popular and maybe worth 12 grand US

Thanks for the replies..
I dont want a regular cab truck but had thought about it briefly just cuz it was diesel.
I have found a few newer GM's with the Duramax. $26,702 for a 02 SLE Extended cab 4x4 pretty much loaded. 30,115 miles
Also a 02 2500 SLE 4x4 6.0 SLE loaded as well. 37,903 miles for 21,651.60. Dont know if the 6L engine is a pig on gas i used to drive a 5.7 96.

If you were happy with your 5.7 you will love the 6.0 I had doubts about it till i took one for a test drive. and i figure gas isnt any worse maybe even a little better then the 5.7

About 65,000 miles but not sure on current money exchange. Their is nothing wrong with 6.5. It was a reliable proven engine and was still used in 3500HD GM truck for af few years after Duramax came out. It would be a better buy than a new 40,000 dollar gasser to push snow with.
