This past storm that we plowed a commercial lot that we have and the customer wants it back to bar pavement but here is the question she said she would call when to slat it but has never called yet since she told us this mid winter. We pushed back the 8" we got that night but then it still snowed more all day and acumulated to just about another 1-2" that could of been taken care of with just a salting. Now would you just add that amount on to the total per in price or charge for another per storm plowing..Iknow that rambeling of words is making sense as i write but won't in awhile when I look back on it lol .so i'm just woundering how you guys would deal with it.

I would bill it as another storm. Tell her that since she did not call you to salt it you plowed and had to bill her for plowing. And the charge would have been less if you could make your own salting decision. Try to convince her that salting will actually save her money.

I would bill that as another plowing you had to back out and drop the blade therefore if would be another full plow. its their own fault if they dont want ot pay for salt and would prefur to keep being plowed for every little amount...
In that situation, yes you would charge for two seperate plowings. This is a commercial account that needed to be plowed in the morning. It kept snow and needed plowed a second time to meet the customer's expectations. She put two conditions on you:
1. Keep it to bare surface
2. Only salt when I want say
The two conditions are incompatable. Tell her she can have one or the other - not both.

Personally the more important question is do you have a written and signed waiver of liabilty that states you will not be held accountable for any accident or injury because the client wishes to direct you as to when salt is to be applied.
Whether or not you charge for that last couple of inches will seem realllllll insignificant when you show up in court and explain to the judge that uhhhh she told us not too!!!!!

Signing the waiver was the first thing I thought to do. If we keep doing the job the way it is suposed to be ploed and treated she would have the best lot in town.I just feel that we are wasting more time than we have to and not charging acordingly my partner on this job say we should add it on th the total inches I was thinking of just charging as if it was a new storm.

Forsure in our company it would be charged has a 2nd push or storm how ever you do your wording sometimes i use the clock if i push lets say on the 12th i bill the 12th if i go in a final out the place after 10 at night but still the same day i bill the 13th most buss are closed and are not around anyway ones that i do that are 24hr i bill the times i was there per storm one case this winter we pushed three times in one day in that case i put the times we were in and i have my guys have the manager or clerk on duty sign his time sheet. I personally would not let 8inches pile up we run on every 4minumium so your surely owed at least two full pushes in my opinion
