:D Just to let all of you out there in Chevy truck land that there is an Easter Bunny, Santa Claus is real and go buy some lottery tickets. I read about the problem 79chevybigred was having - what sounded like a rod knock - after having his flexplate replaced. I had just put a new oil pan gasket on my 85 K20 and noticed that whoever had rebuilt the trans and transfer case had twisted off one of the bolts when tightening down the torque converter. Chris told me the sound of a flexplate slap and a rod knock were almost identical - so I got into it tonite. I was somehow able to get a hole in the bolt and back it out and put in a new bolt - and the knock is gone. What I feared was a rod knock was the flexplate slapping the torque converter. So save this story when you're pissing in a windstorm someday and remember that every now and then, we win. Thanks for the tips Chris - guttyy
