They have been sitting all summer i have aftermarket warn hubs in this truck. Not very old maybe 3 yrs.You think thats all my trouble is.The flat steel linkage bar that connects the lever to the tranfer linkage kept poping off to when i was shifting it back and forth?

If the front shaft won't turn with the truck in 4x4, the transfer case is working. Next with the hubs locked, try to turn the shaft again while in 4x2. If it turns, the trouble is in the hubs. Look out at the steering ujoints to see which axle is turning and start on that hub for service. I've got the same trouble on my 550, I'm sure it's a sticky hub

Take the Drivers side hub out and clean it, its the one sticking.. but might as well do both while you got them apart IMO

you have a welder.. USE IT !!!! LOL
If you can't get the hubs to lock then yes. however unless you have stripped the teeth there should be no reason for it not to lock after you free them up.
they will get water in there sometimes and get stuck unlocked. If they worked before with no prob and nothing happened i think you'll be ok.
Happened to me a few times. I always worked the hubs twice a month just to move them and never had a problem after.

If the passenger side driveshaft is rotating, that's the hub that isn't locked. You'll need to clean that one. Wouldn't hurt to do both, but if you're pressed for time passenger side will get you going.

I got around to pulling that p-side locking hub yesterday afternoon. It had plenty of grease but when i pulled it out it came out in 2 pcs. That backside snap ring popped off and the inner guts the spring, the inner gear were left on the slined shaft so i took it all out inspected it,nothing appears broken put it all back together and reinstalled it.I,m wonder why this was popped apart?I need to test it out today and see if i got 4wd now.Snow may hit us sunday night i,m hearing now.

Has good as Warn products are the first sets of replacements they came out with for the supers had issues with in internals falling apart if theres not enough spring' Sprage' pressure they wont allow the axle to lock.
The last series that came out updated i can tell by the Julian date on the box is about 242 bucks for a pair if your life counts on it which like all of us here it does you might be wiser to go with a updated set just saying.;)

Do not grease lockouts dip them in tranny fluid or use see foam, fuild film, lube 1 etc. grease will cause sticking problems... my loc outs do not see "free" all winter. As far as warn's, cheap is not the way to go full turn 1's are the way to go J.M.O.... Nate
