Well I was curious to see if Meyer was doing some R and D work and adding new products to the line or if those pictures from the NTEA were just a concept.
I found that the model pictured from the NTEA show is called the EZ Mount-xpress. The site claims it uses no pins to mount that its all push button controlled. It also states that the plow is a new highway style plow with an agressive attack angle.
They also have Meyer Hot Shot Broadcast Spreaders listed as a new product.

I was at the show with MDSnowPro and the new meyer plow(i hate to say it) looks pretty good. Its real beefy like the western pro plow plus. Its angle cylinders are also setup like a highway plow, angled way out torwards the end of the plow. It actually hurts to say i liked a meyer product, but i did.
Ooohhhh, the paaiiin!!
:wah
Take 2 aspirins & call us in the morning
Can't tell anything about the plow from the pics attheir site, so can't really make a call. I'll have to check out the other pics posted here.
If that push spreader is really built the way they advertise, I'd actually consider that one over destroying the fert spreaders before their time like now. Only bad thing they posted is they only put 1 side shield on instead of all 3 like normally done with that option. I'll have to check a live one out.
OK I took a look at Columbia's pics. I think that thing has way to many things set up to break on it. Unless one lands right in front of me to look at closely I probably wouldn't go looking for one to check out for any new purchases. I'd stick to the old tried & true set ups (had to put that in there for the M bashers ;) ), or one of the other brands out there. JMO without seeing one live.

lol Fred! I didn't read that deep & see all that stuff you mention. With all that set up to go wrong, I'm pretty sure my Meyer fandom ends at the ole EZ Mount & the Husky & Municipal Series' of plows with their trusty E-60 pumps. :D

I saw this ez express up close and personal yesterday and I too must say I was impressed. I would not have believed that you could litterally hook the plow up in about 10 seconds but I saw it with my own eyes. It was pretty sweet. The A frame also pivots so the plow blade stays level with the truck all the time. No angle dipping at all.

Do you think the new Meyers plow will displace the Blizzard 810 as the hot new setup ??

Well, I am not sure if they will be the talk of Plowtown, but I do think that they are being very aggresive in thier R&D instead of sitting back and watching what everyone else is doing. This plow has some very neat features. It looked very beefy. The controller diagnoses problems with the whole system, it has a shake mode to knock snow off the moldboard, you can wig wag the amber lights in front as warning lights, it literally will hook up to the truck in less than 10 seconds "I would not have believed this but I saw it with my own eyes". The A Frame pivots so the plow stays level with the truck when angled. Lots of interesting new features and from what I hear this will be offered on the Diamond plow for 2005.

Unfourtunatly no I forgot the digital camera?? Go figure. I do have a brochure.

Some of those things makes me almost want to go back to diamond. Is this stuff that's on there web site if it is they really don't talk alot about it or give any good pics Close ups of it.

Cat,
Click the link under the first post from Jay and about 3/4 of the way down the page they talk about it. One of the features I thought was worth checking into was that you can put it in an automatic raise/lower mode and it will raise the plow when you put the truck in reverse and drop the plow when you put it in drive. This would be great for parking lots.

Those are some great well thought out features .

Wow. Now that is a truly innovative concept! I can't believe I've never seen that idea posted here with all of us posting our ideas & desires for our equipment. Even if I had ever thought of that idea I wouldn't have posted it probably, thinking that there certainly couldn't be a way to make it happen. Interesting. Of course its kinda nice to have the plow dragging across the lot on the way back to the next push every once in a while to wake us up a little.

Well I saw the ezmount in person today at a dealer. Even though it is a Meyer i would say it is a great plow. They have done a lot of r & d. The mount is a great looking brushguard. The Plow features two chains, a pushbeam like a Curtis, outboard adjustable trip springs and is much heavier then previous blades IMO. The pump has an extended lift arm for more lift, is faster (not an e57 or 66). The plow can literally self mount or conventional mount, angle the blade level, shake the blade, raise in reverse, drop in forward. Lots of great features. Hopefully they will be picked up by other manufacturers.
