MILLENNIUM WEATHER Northeast U.S. Winter Storm Page

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Due to lack of support to remain self-sustaining, the Northeast Winter Storm forecasts are being discontinued. This is largely the result of increasing cost due to the success of the tropical forecasts. As such, the Atlantic tropical cyclone prediction will, of course, continue! This page will remain in place, to provide links and, in the event of some turn of events that allows forecasts to resume.

I think he was looking to get a subscription fee of $25.00 to $50.00 a year for the service.

I thought about it, but wasn't sure it was viable.

Do you guys think that it would be worth that a year to keep him doing the winter weather forecasts?

If so why don't we all email him.

Thats too bad. I enjoyed checking his indepth predictions for storms. He had a lot of good stuff in those predictions if you were into meteorology.

He had posted at the beginning of the season that he would stop the winter discussions if the subscription service didn't take off enough. For those that did subscribe they were receiving additional updates in between the public postings, & some other additional details & I think a verification map with each event also. I think its well worth the 50 bucks, especially considering the real wx services are hundreds of dollars for yearly subscriptions, and the only real additional benefit from them is "certified" totals & almost real time radar. For free there are plenty of good radar web sites that are only 15 minutes behind, which is close enough for most winter storm analisys that we as contractors need.

He was always focused on the tropical work, and the winter discussions started just to do something in the winter I believe. He didn't start the subscription service until this year, but it sounds like he could make more money doing something else in the winter. If he hears from enough of us, he might still consider a subsription discussion for the future winters?? Might be worth the effort & I think its a good idea Jeff.

I enjoyed him and he always seemed to be pretty close to what we got, I would have paid about $50-$100 per year for the service and I am going to send him an email maybe he will reconsider if enough of us send him some support. Guess he will not be on the favorites any more. Oh well.
