I'm not too familiar with Arctic, but it sounds like they make a preety decent blade. I see now that they are making a v plow with poly wings and a trip edge which is a combination that I have been wanting to see. Has anybody heard about or seen this yet, and what are your comments about arctic in general? Thanks for any help you can give.:D

Arctic's new V plow seems like it's very well built however one thing that caught my attention was the weight. 988 lbs for an 8' V plow, that's pretty heavy. Even the Blizzard 810 weighs less then that.

I noticed the weight too, but considering what it is it seems to be par for the course. V plows are heavier, poly blades are heavier, and trip edge blades are heavier still. Put it all together and you are going to have one heavy blade. Granted it is heavier than I could have hoped, but the combination seems to be almost ideal, snow won't stick, and the blade will actually trip in the scoop position. So what is your opinion of Arctic in general?

Overall I really like Arctic plows. I was going to get one until I came across the used Western I now have. I like the design of their new V plow but I'm not crazy about all that weight like I said before. Yes V plows are heavy but Arctic's V plow is without a doubt the heaviest V plow under 9'. Personally if I was going to hang all that weight on the front of my truck I would go with a Blizzard 810 (950lbs) which would be way more preductive then an 8' V plow. However if I were just looking for a straight blade I would definitly look at getting an Arctic, not that I'm happy with my Western but since Arctic plows are made in Canada they're about $500 cheaper then most plows and I find them fairly similar to Western plows. I know numerous people that own Arctic plows and they are more then happy with them.

We have 2 Arctic plows and they are great. I would recommend Arctic to anyone looking for one. We have just the basic ones that are at least 10 years old and they do the job just great.

I have a 8' Poly I've used for three seasons without an ounce of trouble yet. I just added Pro-wings and works awesome together.
