Have a 1999 GMC 1500 4x4. The u-joints of the front drive shaft are going. This shaft has the cv joint on it also up by the case.
Drive tran shop said I'd be looking at $350.oo and two days to send it out. Do most of you send them out, or tackel it your self? Spicer parts total only come to about $55.00
Do it your self or send it out?

I do most of them in-house.The double cardans are a little more difficult,and require some patience,but arent that bad.You may need the little bearings\bushings for the center stud.Check to see what is available first.

Have a good u-joint\ball joint press is a good idea,so your not damaging stuff.
