Can you fo a 9' dump on a 1 ton

I thought I would ask this question for other guys as well as myself.On a Ford you can have a 9' dump body put on but when you go to a chevy with basically the same wheel base you can't ? Does one inch make that much of a difference?

The Chevy frame may be a factor, but what size chassis and duelly or single rear wheel?
