This has bugged me ever since i had my garage built.

My shop air hose gets this pitch type covering on it during the winter months.
Summer time not an issue.
I could see if it was on the place i use it due to grease etc. but it's all the way down to the end by the compressor also.

Just wondering if anyone else had had this happen.

It's not the plastic covered hose. It's the same that's at the dealership.
I don't have any heat in the garage.
Just something that's making me go MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

I'm thinking a chemical reaction in the hose itself due to the difference in temps.

Just curious

I've seen the plastic type ones do that, not sure what type you have though.

I've always bought Goodyear rubber hoses. Heavier than some of the others, but they never have gotten any odd sticky stuff on the outside and they don't become a half-frozen coil in cold weather. Some people don't care for my preference in hoses, I've had people working with me complain about my air hoses and garden hoses (my garden hoses are the heavy black Craftsman industrial type garden hose - very heavy but they're kink and crush resistant and always flexible), but I think it's a small price to pay for less headaches.

FWIW, I buy the Goodyear air hose at Harbor Freight, they have it on sale fairly often.
