The trans started shifting way early on this truck today, like 4th gear @ 20 mph. Reminds me of a broken TV cable on older GM's. I have not had time to check into this as the truck is still out plowing. Any ideas of what I should be looking for? Vacuum, cables, wires, etc. Fluid level was low, so I have a leak to look for.
I will be out for a while, so I won't be able to respond immediately. Thanks for any help!

I have a buddy who has a 95 f-350 diesel and just replaced the trans in September and in December they replaced it again ! And then less than a week later it was acting up so back to the dealer whom installed the trans. Come to find out it was the wiring harness..

A little more info. Found out the cooler sprung a leak. Filled it up, but still acting the same. You can manually shift through every gear okay. I was under the hood replacing the power steering pump yesterday, it's possible I knocked a wire or hose loose. opinions, experiences......
Check for codes, my 97 would shift goofy after it warmed up. Ended up being the solinoid pack the codes were in the 620s. Just a tought.
