I have a 85 silverado with 15 inch rims and I was wondering if 35 x 14.5 tires would fit ok or would they rub? I will also have a 4 inch suspension lift.

i wouldnt even try it. it will rub ( even with the 4'' lift i think it will rub when you turn) that is a real wide tire What do you want that wide of a tire for? theres more cons then pros. U will lose gas milage and added ware on the truck and no traction in the snow. but may be able to float on water LOL. I put 35s on my friends F250 (2001) and there not that wide i think they were like 11 with. I know that tire will look cool but you wont get anything good out of them. But hey go for it i know i did things like that when i was in high school. Like 44s on a s10 with a 12'' lift and a 383 stroker that was fun LOL. Good luck man.

i had an 87 with a 4 inch suspension lift, i ran 35.12.50 15s, they fit nice and had no clearance trouble, i think the the 14.5 will rub though

i say yes you canrun 35s with that lift kit in it but dont go past 12.5 for width. unless there free and then give them a try but if you are buying them dont go any bigger then 12.5 for width

Ran 36"x12.50R16 swamper radials with stock wheels(16x 6.5"and 4.5"backspacing) and 3in body lift on a 79 K20 and they rubbed only off-road, not on the street. Something else to keep in mind is that 35s don't usually measure 35" and not all 35s are the same height or the same width. My 36s are 35.5 tall and about 11.5 width.

Unless you are running 1 ton axles you will probably end up breaking drivetrain parts with tires that big. That is, if you take the truck offroad. I ran 35 X 14.50 X 15 Interco Thornbirds on a Jeep CJ 5 and before long I was replacing the axles as I broke something almost every time I took it out. Also, I'm not sure how wide your rims are, but I would think you would need at least a 15X10 wheel for a tire that wide. I think my rims were 15X12.
As was mentioned above, most tires don't run quite as big as the advertized size. I think Interco tires are an exception to that rule. If the tires you are thinking about running happen to be Super Swampers or anything made by Interco, they will be pretty darn big.

do you have a problem with fender triming?
40's will go on a flexy 6" lift if you getr creative ;)
btw 1/2 ton axels and those tires isnt a good idea IMO especially if your truck is anything but a mall queen

buying tires can be kind of a gamble, at least when it comes to size. Bought a set of 34x10.50-16 swamper LTBs last year and they only measured about 32". Was not too happy about that. The 36s swamper radials I have now are a lot better at 35.5". Not going to complain about half an inch. And don't think I will go back to bias-ply again unless I build a off-road truck only. Radials ride so much better in my opinion. And if the body is rusted and shot already, don't be afraid to do some fender trimming, as was said. If you ever want to fix the body again, aftermarket is huge for that body style.

I've got a 4" lift with add a leafs which give aout an extra inch. Then i run 35 x 12.5 x 15 mud terrains. with no pobs but i got 1/2 ton axels. plan on keep a few U-joints and a 1/2" wrench in your truck at all times. Plus most likely you will have to extend your front driveline as i did and if your lucky you wont have to do your rear. Most people dont think about that then they get their splines sticking out and u give it a good gun and u strip out your drive line. so you'll be fine with the tires and that lift just do some investigating with yer driveline and expect new balljoints in... o about 6 months and when u replace them go heavy duty.
but this is all my opinion

I have 33x12.5x16's on my 84 Chevy, had to fab the front fenders (shaved 1" off). They are only for snow-free weather though.
