The lexan moldboard if fine. Put some wax on it and it will work even better. Lexan wears well and is lots lighter than several of the other products used for this purpose. It will scratch, and if it is very cold it can be damaged by sharp impacts, but that is true for many other things.

We have 4 Lexan Snoways, and they are OK.They do get pretty scratched up,and will break if you hit something hard enough. If replaced the Lexan on a few of them, and repaired some of the others by "stitching" them with metal wire.
If I had a choice,I think I'd go stainless.Lexan is really expensive now to replace, but it does come with a 5 year breakage warranty.

thanks for the info on the lexan moldboards. i asked the dealer how much a new lexan moldboard is if i broke one he said price for part is 180 bucks, also the price of the plow from him is the same whether i get the lexan or the stainless moldboard. i wont be ordering it until the end of march so ill have to decide for sure if i should get the lexan or the stainless , actually they have three choices lexan, steel, or stainless steel. david

Used to have two Snoway Predator 25 series plows. First one was Lexan and we managed to punch a hole through it after a couple winters. Replaced it with steel skin. Bought the second with the steel. No problems with either after that. Didn't "see" any advantage to the Lexan, since you still need to purchase the plow light kit with them. Once they're dirty (always) your truck lights won't shine through. Didn't notice the snow sticking to the steel any more than it did to the Lexan either.
