I just bought a used 7k gvw trailer & rewired the brakes. Can anyone look at the pics & tell me who manufactures them? A long shot I'm sure, but you never know. Can I just get a kit from Northern, or does some one have an online source? thanks

Looks like Dexter's. Any decent Napa or trailer supply place should be able to get them.
When you do, buy the kit, Backing plate, new magnet, pads etc....

You might try www.surpluscenter.com , they've got some at a great price. I'm pretty sure if you measure the shoes, you can match them to replacement parts. The whole package like Alan suggests is the best deal.

Any RV place can get you the parts you need for it... Looks like Dexter axles to me as well. Do you have the 14.5 inch centerless wheels on it ? Probably 10x2 inch brake shoes on it... pricey buggers too lol !

These MAY be the ones. Make sure of the shoe size.

That is a Dexter axle , and Napa sells the whole Carlisle brake parts line you can do like suggested and just buy the whole kit or peace patch it, depending on funds.
You can test the magnet, shoes look like standard 9 or 10 inch and depending on backing plates i wouldnt change them unless they need it. The magnet is not hard to change and comes with the wiring.

I just replaced all 4 of my 7k dexters for about 210.00 shipped.IMO it isnt worth buying shoes,or magnets..buy the assembly.I think i paid 45.00 for each genuine dexter assy from an online source....if your interested i can dig up where i bought them.

My experience exactly. I got mine from a local RV parts store (Richfield's) for less than $50 per wheel. Bolt on, connect the wire and go.

Ok,just found it.Actually I think the brake parts were only 160,the rest was some other stuff Id bought too. Ive bought from these ppl 3 times so far, everything has been good so far....http://www.etrailer.com/p-23-27/10-Electric-Brake-Assembly-RH.html
I try to buy local too,but my napa dealer wanted 28.99 for each individual brake set,not a pair... for the shoes, then another 12 for a hardware kit.....this is the same Napa dealer that dropped me plowing to save $5.00 a push a few yrs back....so the loyalty there isnt what it used to be...

I can understand being frustrated with them over plowing but ill tell you they sound like the same Napa Chuck deals with in NJ and that is they dont even know there own product lines. Carlise has been a big supplyer to Napa for years and sells the completes for under 50 per wheel , sounds like your napa doesnt know or care to be trying to sell Rayloc line of linings and hardware.
My comment was based on what you wanted to spend , i know money is tight and you can buy just what you need . What i tend to find when we fix trailers at the shop after the customer is threw is that they were intimadated with changing the shoes hence the primary shoes are never installed correctly and hardware. Buying the service pacs are the most cost and time effective way however i have to deal with all budgets at the shop hence i offered Napa selling the parts by Carlise seperate not there rayloc reman lining line.

I agree with John completely. I just did the same exact thing with my 7000gvwr enclosed trailer (carmate) this last summer. I went to the original dealer (connecticut trailers) with the trailer and said that I needed brakes for the trailer that was outside. Their mechanic walked outside, looked the trailer over and gave my a grocery list of what to ask for back at the counter. I also bought a new jack and bearings all around and the bill was less than $275. At about $50 a wheel, it is alot easier and better knowing that everything is new.
