Does any one have one and are they a good sander?
How is the flip up shute?

I've got the gas drive model, but the chute is the same. Couple issues that I'm not real fond of. First, the drag chain seems a little too wide. Unless you can travel fast it's hard to shut the door down enough to not overapply. Had problems with really coarse salt binding between the feed door and the chain and bending both the door and the chain crossbars. Cured that by putting an inverted vee over the chain. Incidentally, the binding was bad enough that it would stall the engine at mid throttle so I would expect it to stall the electric motor as well.

Second issue is that unless your truck is real high you may not be able to swing the chute up (or down) if you're loaded. Ours has been in two 8600 lb GVW GMs and they are both too low to let it happen. You can take the chute off and put it back on in the desired position without too much problem or find a convenient curb cut to run a wheel up on to get a little more height.

DO NOT lose the stainless steel pins that hold the chute in place! It's easy to forget to put one back in and Sno-Way rapes you for parts! Talking to the dealer today and those pins are $80+. Absolutely ridiculous!

I just put a bearing in mine, the one on the rear of the drag chain, That part, from S-W, would have been $110+. Local bearing house got me one for $30.62.

Bleeding us for parts may not be illegal but it certainly raises questions about ethics. The parts rape is going to figure heavily in what brand plow and equipment I buy next.

The problem with small items like that for replacement, is that snowway buys the part, sells it for more to your dealer who marks it up and makes a profit on it. My guess is that the dealer mark up isnt all that much, but they have to make money to keep the doors open.

I like the idea of the swing away shute so if you have to tow a trailer you don't have to pull off the whole unit especialy if you need to sand later after towing your bobcat from site to site.

Are there any other electric units besides ice-o-way and the snoway that have that type of option and will hold a yard + ?
I forgot to mention the snowex still not a 100% sold on that one
