300 is random misfire which lead to number 5 it can go a few ways anything that can make #5 miss ie Plug, wire, coil pac, injector, vaccum leak and on and on it should be taken to someone you trust because i hate to see you throw parts at it.

There was a factory service bulletin on 2005 Chrysler/Dodge minivans with the 3.3 or 3.8 engine related to random cylinder misfiring (P0300, 301, 302, etc.).

It involves replacing the spark plugs and wires, along with a PCM software update. The TSB # is 18-018-04

I get #3 misfire on my 97 Grand Cherokee. It comes and goes.

If its a 4.0 in 97 i was still working for the jeep dealer did a ton of Valve springs and Decarb of cylinders for this problem.

Honeslty Start with Decarb of cylinders first , if problem presists, providing the basics are ok , then a weak Vavle spring is most likly the culprit.

4.0 6 cyl. I did the decarb. I think it needs valve springs. As long as the light is off once a year I'm good for an inspection sticker.
