If you have a 3.73 ratio on a GM front end, the numbers 41 11 should be stamped on the ring gear(41 teeth ring gear, 11 teeth pinion gear). Just divide 11 into 41 and you get 3.73. 4.10s will have 41 10(41 divided by 10), and 3.42 will have 41 12 and so on with other different ratios. The build date should also be stamped near the ratio numbers too(like 8 78)-august 1978. www.usgear.com seems to have a pretty good listing of manufacturers tooth counts per each ratio. You can always mark a tooth on each gear and just count teeth also to be sure of the tooth count. hope this helps.
