I'm new on this forum so thought I'd post up some pics
of my tools. I'm a 48 yo female plow person and have
been snowplowing (mostly residential) for myself since 1989.
95% of the time I service my own stuff. Started out with
a Jeep CJ7/Meyer combo and ran it 10 yrs. Present vehicle
is a 97' Jeep TJ I purchased in 99' and had a brand
new Meyer TM 6.5 put on it at that time. Still running the TJ but am
presently doing some work ie: replaced motor on the E47,
soon replacing a broken pivot pin, replacing one pitted angle
piston, r/r various seals, gaskets, and hardware in the
upper portion of the pump. Will post more pics of that later.

Garage needs to be straightened up for the winter but
anyway here's a few pics. Oh and I almost forgot,
thanks Chuck for approving my registration to the forum!

Welcome to the LTS forums!

I do believe I recognize you from the "other plowing forum" that is sometimes referred to as the "Darkside". You'll find it less active here, but so much less BS than over there.

You have come to the right place. Chuck is the proud owner of http://www.smithbrothersservices.com/ , and a Meyer guru. There are several auto techs here also, making this a great place for helpful advice when something goes amiss.

Forgot to ask: is that a camera illusion, or are your plow lights really as cloudy as they look?

Funny how winter approaching makes us clean-up and organize at the end of summer.:D

On edit. And yes, Chuck is the guy to talk to about Meyer!

Thanks you guys. Ken the lights are cloudy. I had
trouble with them from day one. Water would get in
and the cold water hitting the hot bulb...well you
know what happens. I sealed the seams with silicone
which fixed the water getting in but with this Jeep
I can lift the plow up enough to drive and the Jeep headlights
shine right over it so never even needed the plow lights.

The garage is a mess but a little at a time and I'll get there.

This forum does seem great from what I've seen and I already
placed an order for some stuff from Chuck. :wink

Don't clean your garage... You'll just find out that you have more room and then in turn end up with more stuff. Anyways I like your filing system its just like mine. Put this here...throw that there...kick that under there.:D As long as you can get the Harley out for that rogue 70* day in December you'll be ok.:wink Welcome to LTS

Yea i have to agree with that too. Most of us that are on here have our shops looking the same way.

Heres a question. How do you carry salt with you in the jeep. I have always wondered that.

With the back seat taken out i can stack bagged up to the rear seats, open the rear hatch on the hard top and the spreader is right level with the unit works pretty slick to be honest.

I do mostly residential and seldom get a request for salt,
but when I do need it I pull the back seat and put a big
plastic tote back there and fill it. I do have to put it down
by hand but the lots and driveways that need it are
not big places so doesn't take long with myself and my shovel
person on it.

well salt for residentials i use the majic for them and keep it in a rubber made barrel with a small stainless scoop , I just transfer it into a small 5 gal bucket then spred by hand. some times the sander is just to big for driveways that are narrow.
