Hey guys,

I sort of stumbled upon this forum trying to find an answer to my question. I failed inspection due to these lights, as they are claimed to be a safety hazard to other drivers. I need to be able to replace my license plate lights. now, I removed them from their bracket so I can see them instead of looking at them under the bumper... now they're just hanging there. I need to be able to switch these lights, however I can't find out for the life of me how to remove the bulbs. My friend tried something stupid and now one of the light bulbs is broken, which will make it harder to get out. Can you guys offer some assistance? These lights refuse to come out. :(

I'm assuming that the bulbs are the small #161 bulbs (I think is the bulb #). I end up breaking them and pick them out with a small screwdriver or a pick. Make sure the light switch is turned off or you might blow the fuse.

I too usually break those bulbs... then use a small pair of needle nose pleyers and try to pull them out... they can be a little bit of a pain in the butt but if you work at it they'll eventually come out...

breaking them and picking them ot with needle nose in common but then on the install put DIe-electric grease on it and that should make it easyer the next time you need to replace them.

i dont think ive ever pulled one of those suckers out without a little bit of a struggle... the die electrice grease is a good idea too makes em easier to get back out next time... and will cut down on the corrosion...
