My dad has a 1999 Chevy S10 Blazer (not a plow vehicle, personal use only). The fuel guage seems to be broken. It usually stays at around 3/4 tank mark.

It has a "fuel used" and "range" feature on the overhead console where it displays temperate and direction. It reads fine. Right now it can be reset when filling up with gas and when it gets near 18 gallons it's time to refill.

Any ideas on what it might be? I though maybe the sending unit but the computer knows how much was used.

Thanks
Ryan

i worked on a 98 that was like that. It ended up being a easy fix. The fuel pump has the floating arm that sends the amount of gas to your gauge and it was stuck at half a tank. If you pull it out and look and move it up and down a few times then if that is your problem that will fix it. Also get some b12 chemtol and run it through the tank to pull and kind of build up in it.
