Going to demo a Kubota RTV 1100 tomorrow at work. Just wondering if anyone has experience pushing snow with one. Demo won't have a plow, but the are quoting a 72" hydraulic angle plow with electric over hydraulic lift. I saw a RTV 900 on here with a Blizzard, just wondering how it does in the snow.

Dave,
It really depends what kind of business that your are in. If your a contractor that would rely heavily upon an RTV plow for revenue I would go with one designed specifically for contractor use.
I have had some experience with RTV blades and by far the current offering is quite weak.
The beauty of the Kubota RTV is that it has its own hydraulic capabilities, and doesn't require an electric over hydraulic power pack.
I would have to say that one of the best blades on the market is the Kanlan RTV Folding V Blade which is made by our sister company. This blade utilizes the RTV's integral hydraulics to power is rugged 72" blade.
You can check it out online at www.kanlan.ca to view pictures and video.

You'd better tell me that this blade just came out in the past year or two.
Sweet stuff, you've got, didn't know there was that much flow on the RTV to run a broom.
Any dealers in Michigan?
Any literature that can be sent out regarding the attachments?
I know someone looking for a V-blade for a utility vehicle.

Mark, was hoping you'd see this thread. Was going to tell you about it after I saw the other link that's why I posted it. I like the quick attach for other attachments.

Says the guy from the warm south.
J, I like the quick attach too. Sweet setup. Still going to be ticked if this was out when I bought mine. Wonder how much it weighs in at too.
I don't think that's a dirt bucket. It looks like a light material bucket. Probably used for some highly productive snow pile removal.:D

Hello All,
I see that there is some interest for Kanlan's RTV attachments. I thought i would upload some pictures so you all can see. This sweeper is acutally ran directly off the RTV's hydrauilc system!

We seem to be into plowing with a lot of different machines here other then pickups. The RTV looks like a good idea.

A guy around here has at least 2 maybe 3 of those Kubotas. He has Blizzard plows on them. I will ask him what he thinks of them next time I am talking to him.

Well we did demo one last week and we are buying, going with the Kubota blade which I believe is a Curtis. Very nice machine, we tried a 900 before and it is way quieter and has a much nicer cab.

JMO, I'd go with a Blizzard, as I have had zero problems with mine.
Reason I did go with the Kubota\Blizzard combo, was because I was trying to come up with something to do plowing and salting\spraying in one pass. I was going to go with an ATV, but have a custom built plow built for it, because I have yet to see a mass manufactured ATV plow that will stand up to what we do with them. Talked to Jerre and he gave me the idea of the RTV and the rest is history.
Plus, you can have down pressure with the Blizzard.
It would be wicked if Blizzard had a little Speedwing for it though. Not enough can be said about having wings. :blizzard Cleanup is such a bitch with a straight blade.
Maybe Jerre could make a mini set of Danger Wings? :D

I would have liked to get the Blizzard also, but the dealer had the Kubota blade in stock and the boss wanted to move quickly on this one. We needed a better way to do walks, and this should fit the bill nicely.
I like the drop spreader Kanlan offers for the back of the RTV. We were considering a spreader for the RTV next season and this may be something to look into. MacLean MV do you mind sharing ballpark pricing on this? I can see now all the sod repairs we would have to do if we put a tailgate spreader on this.

Well, I went and talked to the guy I know that has 1 of these with a Blizzard plow. He actually has 3 of them. He wasn't there but his mechanic and one of his guys that runs one was. They say they love them. No problems so far and they work great.
Cost around $25,000 Canadian for the setup. A bit pricey but would make a good unit if you had a lot of big sidewalks. I also think it would make a GREAT driveway crew vehicle.
