I’m looking at a 6.5 Meyers to mount on my 93 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While looking at the Meyers website application it lists Cherokee but NOT Grand Cherokee. What is the difference between a Cherokee & Grand? I know that ball joints, tie rods and other suspension parts are the same. Other then the Cherokee has leaf springs in the rear and the Grand having coils. I plan on installing a small lift on my Grand to help with the weight of the plow. Will the Cherokee set up mount up on the Grand?

NO manufacturer (at least the ones who Sponsor here) make a plow for the Grand Cherokee because they are uni-body construction. The Cherokee Sport has a chassis. So unless you want a Snosport, Snowbear, or some other plow you can buy at Lowes, you won't be plowing with the Grand Cherokee.

Sorry for the bad news. I own 3 Grands, and if a plow was possible, I'd have at least one :D

Hmmmm, there is this fruitcake in Erie, PA that has mounted them on Grands before though :wink :p

The best advice is dont do it,Chuck is giving you the best advice here.If you want a real plow angle plow, not a snowbear, snosport or an atv type plow, get a different SUV. The Jeep GC is a unibody, just like a car, whens the last time you seen an AWD car plowing with a real hydraulic snow plow? There are a few small/mid size SUVs that can take a plow,do some research before you buy the SUV to make sure it can safely take a plow.I've seen the small Fisher homesteader on blazers, trailblazers, and explorers before.I dont know if the owners put them on against fishers advice or they are made for them, but theres a few that plow around here with them.

Sorry guys and no disrespect Chuck but a XJ Cherokee no matter what package doesn't have a chassis........they are all unibody.....and if you can mount something to a grand you can mount with "no" or at least "little" modification to a XJ. I know my name's TubedYota LOL but I've only had 2 Toyotas (well now 3) and that's what the plow went on........but I can remember at least 8 Cherokees that I've had, maybe a few others for parts as well :wink :)

I stand corrected. No offense taken. I still would not put one on a Grand if every reputable manufacturer out there does not recommend it.
