ive heard from a few people that only after 5 or 6 storms they are having to replace the cutting edge on their x blades. they all love the plow and say it scrapes great, but say cause of the angle of attack they are going through cutting edges like butter......can anybody else confirm they are having that problem as well?

I believe that why Fisher sells the combination curb protector/wear shoe . I have them for my X blade . They are worth the cost . I cant confirm cutting edge wear as I am running a U edge

I only have around 2-3 rounds on my base angles and it's time for some edges....

Much quicker than my old reg style MM2 blades... and smiling too.

I have had mine for 2 seasons and I don't run a cutting edge. I just let the bottom of the plow do the work. I have about 1.5" before it even gets to the holes. Maybe next year I will have to put an edge on her.:D

Blizzard owners had the same complaint. It's due to the extreme attack angle of the cutting edge ( hence the super scraping ability ) and the weight on the edge. More surface area or cutting edge width and extra shoes or curbers will help but also reduce the cutting ability. The X blade combines the 2 to produce a better cut than any Fisher in the past except the hydraulic adjustable base option someone offered in the past.

You have to consider the options and find a happy medium.

i.e. Pavement leveler and blade eater

Rides over the stuff and the edge lasts for ever.

Welcome to the new age of plowing where we get to the bottom of things.
