Was wondering if anyone knew whether a 810 power plow set up is made to fit on a 1970 K20? The truck has 1 ton running gear with dana 44's I believe. Not lifted or anything. It does have a 3" body lift but not a suspension lift. I email blizzard company tonight but thought I'd get a quicker response from you guys. Thanks.

From what I have read it will ,you just need the" particular parts " to mount to your frame

I saw one on the next series of Chevys which began in '73 down at Jerre's, but I don't know for sure about your truck. I know Jerre could adapt something if it isn't available.

It might work on a 1 ton,with the D60 up front,but it's a pretty heavy plow for a 3/4 ton with a D44.

The one at Jerre's place was a smaller straight blade I think.

hopefully Jerre will see this and be able to reply. A 810 power blade maybe too heavy for a 3/4 ton? hmmm. I was really looking foward to having that setup on the truck for next season. Jerre... shed some light. Thanks guys!

Is the sticker still there to show your FAWR? That should give you an answer. The 810 works on current 3/4 ton trucks, I can't imagine yours would be different. If the capacity is there, it's only a matter of fabricating the push plates.

I'm picking up the truck on wed. So then I can find out what the fgvw is and go from there. I was just really more concerned as to whether or not there is a mounting kit for my truck.

Plower737 I do not think Blizzard makes an actual mount for a '70 Chevy. Heck they weren't even around then. The cost of a production mount wouldn't be worth it, but I could be wrong. That not to say you cant fab an existing mount to work and if Jerre chimes in I am very confident it can be done. Hope this helps out.

I hate to suggest NOT to do it but most dana 44's are ½ ton, even a HD44 in my friends 250 was rated the same as mine in the old bronco, granted I hung a 850# plow off of it but I wore almost everything on the front end out in 1 plow season I would hate to see what a 1100# plow would do to it:eek:

Check the plate with the VIN on it, that is riveted to the door frame. A good friend of mine had a 1970 K/10, and it was a beast off road. Ran 36" Gumbo Mudders on it for years. Had a 12,000 lb Warn winch on the front. When he bought it, it had a diamond plate tow truck push bumper on it, and that was on it since it was new in 1970. He bought it in 1984. That thing weighed at least 500# alone. He took it off when he mounted the winch. (For those of you that visit my Chevy Truck Pages, that is the K/10 that ended up with the 77 Monte Carlo body on it).

Up front it had the D44, but in the rear it had a GM 12 bolt.

Leaf springs are a beautiful thing!

I kinda fiqure with it being a 3/4 ton from the early 70's , she has to be a hoss. I also plan to use it to haul a v box when I get one. I'll take some pics to show you guys and get the numbers to let you know.

AHhhhhh. My favorite series of truck. Cheve 68-72 Blazers and pickups. Ugly to some but a thing of beauty to others. Not as nimble as the old Broncos of the time but surely much beefier. Most had factory limited slip rears and a great turning radius.

I agree with Big nate about checking out the axle for weight rating. You said 1ton runnin gear. Hopefully more than just extra springs.

As far as a mount goes. SORRY no factory mount available.............However I could arrange one to be delivered to you. You might want to order the blade from your dealer asap for this up coming season as you know there aren't any left in the network that I can find for this year.

You won't want to hang an 810 on it unless you have the FGVW to handle it. The K20 came with 2 different axle ratings. One was a heavy half and the other a true 3/4 ton with 1 ton shared axles and different braking.

You could still hand a straight blade on it. I've got a buddy running one every day that's lifted up and tricked out. It would give me a good excuse to get him out of the old Meyer T-5 electrolift he's running.

Hope this helps. Send me an email for more info.
