I am guessing at the manufacture but the name monarch is on the holding tank. This is a non electric hydraulic set up that runs off a pump its on a 79 GMC K35. This set up is on a truck I picked up a while back and finally got around to testing the plow. It works going up and down but only moves a little side to side. I disconnected one of the lines to the angle pistons and fluid shot out so I seem to be getting pressure to the piston.
Ok so my question is how do I get the angle working hoping for a easy fix before I start taking things apart. Below are a few photos of the system on the truck
Thanks

I would start by changing both sets of quick couplers.

Only 1 side has a quick connector I was able to push down on the on ball inside the quick connect fitting ,the other hose has a union fitting so it just screws in. If the problem is with the quick connect fitting why does it not move at least toward the side without the quick connect fitting. I will remove the quick connect and either replace it with another union or put in 2 new quick connects.

One more question where can I look to find out the manufacture of the plow and related parts. There are no lables would the manufacturers name be stamped anywhere took a quick look and did not see any but its been painted a few times so anyone know where to look .
Thanks Ed

It would not angle because only one cylinder is pressurized at a time.
When the right extends the left must compress and return the fluid to the reservoir. angle to left the right cyl is under pressure to extend, the left cylinder must compress to allow the right to extend. Therefore both cyl must flow for either angle to work.

Yup, thats how they work, and when one coupler isnt seating properly it wont allow the fluid to return to tank.

The company that built the hydraulics unit is still here in Grand Rapids, MI. Monarch Hydraulics. Jackoboice is the name of the family who started and still own the company, as I recall. Have not ever seen a unit with the Jackoboice name on it, so you've got an old(er) timer there.

Bucher Hydraulics bought the CO a few years ago but they still make them here. Have a hard time trying not to fill the pockets when i pick up and deliver there.

I had an old electric monarch system and called them with a few questions. Probably the nicest people I have ever dealt with.
