Ok, at my own peril, I'll wade in.....

So, if I understand correctly, if you tap on the electric plow motor it works ok? If so, does it work for just a second, or run normally until you shut it off then it won't start again?

When you replaced the solenoid does that fix it?

If you have power through the solenoid to the motor, does the motor spin?

If the motor is not spinning, have you checked the ground? Have you checked all connections? 90% of all issues with plow pumps seem to always be wiring, and 75% of those issues are ground related.

I am not familiar with a Northman Plow, isn't that one of those Northern Tool catalog plows? FWIW, too late now, but a brand name heavy duty commercial plow would probably have better suited your use if you are worried about 2-3K in plowing profits.

Try to get us a little more info and we probably can walk you through it.

A buddy of mine had a northman plow very similar to a western. We wired it up with meyers toggle switches and it worked great.
