Who is using somthing different for the center wiper on the V plow. I just went though another fisher center wiper its the newer style one piece rubber with the brackets mounted on the back. I want to get rid of the brackets as i feel they hold up the plow a little.
Has anyone tried urathane I'm sure Dino has them on his western
How are did you mount it and how has it worked.
Any one have any Pics.
Thanks Todd

Yeah those brackets are worthless. On one i took the brackets off and just attached a real rigid 1" thick piece to the back side with bolts and big washers. HAven't really got to use it much other than pushing some slush this morning. I am expecting my u-edge for the other one any day now. It comes with a new center piece so once its on I will let you know how it works. Trying to plow once it gets ripped off is a huge pita!!!!
Good luck
Brian

We use a piece of urethan 1" thick x 6" wide and 15" long. It stretches enough with the movement of the plow to work very well.
I will try and get some pics.

That one pic explains how urathane flexes and absorbs impacts better then any 100 words EVER could!! Are the boltholes for the center piece slotted?

No, the holes in the center wiper are not sloted;)

Thanks Greg
The piece isnt even drilled, that way it can be drilled to match the bolt pattern. No need for slots as the u piece will flex as needed to move from v to scoop.

Does it stretch? I would think the distance between the bolts would change as it goes from V or scoop mode to a straight blade.
