I think this was posted somewhere but I couldnt find it when i searched....

Does anyone know the best-priced source of a set of Boss Wings

I have considered putting a set on the strongest truck to try and save some time on these bigger lots... and with all the good things Ive heard about them I really think they will be a good investment.

From who? Or was that just because you bought two sets?

Hey, you might want to consider putting Western Wings on it, they are cheaper, built better and fit with a few slight modes the new Boss blades with curb guards.

I was priced 1800.00 CDN for a set to fit the new blade style. Lucky my service guy is a Western dealer and installed a set. Run 2 winters now and never plow without them.

Like I said it was last years pricing. I think they are $725 or something now. I can ask tomorrow, when I go pick up the rest of my parts.

Thats a great price, but I would hate to see what the shipping charges are. The wings are not light by any means.

Last year, I ordered my wings from Equip Specialists in the above link. Shipping was free, but it took about 6 weeks and several phone calls. :(

I sent them an email requesting a shipping price, they haven't replied two days later. Screw'em.

List price in the Boss wings here over $900 plus shipping and tax! Westerns are $650 plus shipping and tax.

Any idea why the Western ones are so much cheaper? Are they a lot lighter? I guess I made a face at the thought of that price because he suggested ProWings.. :p

I don't know if i'd go with pro wings on a boss V 1eye2 haha I have the boss wings on my 8'2 V and hardly ever plow without them, even then, i have to take them off to fit in my garage! They're so easy to take on and off (if you need to) and you don't have to drill any holes directly into the moldboard. I'll tell you that i'll never own another V without wings!

Doing some research on the wings. I found a set for $220. They are made by buyers, anyone heard of them or used them? thanks

$199.99 at Northern Tool.

I had a set a few years ago and you get what you pay for in this matter. It was a wasted $200, they ended up in the dumpster after a few runs. They bend way to easy for the plowing I do.
Others may like them, but they didn't work for me.

If you're going to run any type of wings on a boss plow...i would recommend the "boss" wings themselves...or possibly the western wings (which are pretty similar). They attach and de-tach very quickly as well as do a great job. I never plow without mine! :D

What kind of mods are needed to fit the westerns onto the boss. And where do you find them, all the western dealers in my area have no clue what I'm talking about.

Not yet, unfortunately... Had a few other items take priority, but very very soon I hope.

Useless threats of storms like last night sure waste alot of time.... spent the whole night up watching for snow and got nothing but rain...
