after many Fords with decent luck I am looking at a new Dodge HD 4x4 with the Cummins 600 in a crew cab 2500 series. Many fellow plowers and landscapers tell me of the multiple transmissions and numerous brake problems they have with their Dodge/Cummins trucks. Any one have any luck/track record with the new HD trucks to report on?

The new trucks are awesome. They are so much more refined than the 2nd gen trucks, yet still a workhorse. The new Cummins 600 is an awesome motor too.

The tranny and brake problems are few and far between. They are again, much improved over the older versions.I would not hesitate to buy one.

My 04 has been great for the 1200 miles I have driven it. That Cummins 600 is the way to go ! A factory torque monster :D

synner, I think your going with the best out there now.I wouldnt hesitate to buy one. Lets face it Ford is not even an option if you want reliable diesel power and plan to keep it past the warranty period. The GM is nice, but the Dodge/Cummins says truck like no other. The trans is much improved, the brakes are hands down the best by far of the big 3 offerings ,the engine continues to be the best offering,as it was since its introduction. It is now the quietest,,smoothest and strongest. Im not to happy about the quietest:rolleyes: part! I like the rattle!.
