I have an older Meyers snowplow that has been well used. I started to have problems with it last winter. When I plow up into a pile, and push hard, the top of the blade pushes back to the truck and stays there. I have to hook a chain on it and a tree, then back up hard to get it to pop back to the normal position. I can not figure out what I need to fix. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Doesent sound good.
Is the entire plow going too high and hitting the truck, or is the moldboard getting jammed in the A-frame? can you post some pics?

The trip return stops are bent and the pivot pins and or sleeves are worn out. You can have new stops welded onto the old ones to stop it from happening. I suggest you repair the pivots too.
Oh, and a buddy used to have a K5 Blazer at his shop, they used it to push cars around the lot, and the same thing happened to it. You can't push on the top edge of the moldboard like that. Not saying you did, but that will put the moldboard past the stops too.

I have replaced the pivot pins, where the moldboard attaches to the a-frame. Where are the stops, are they the small square pieces of steel on the a-frame, towards the bottom of the moldboard? How would I replace the sleeves? Do they have to be cut off and the new ones welded on? How can I tell if they are worn? Thank you for the help, Tony.

Here is a picture. The first one on this page:

The square piece is the stop. Does yours look like this stop, or is it under the edge of the crossbrace? The third picture shows the stop at a 90° angle to the base of the sector when it is actually at an angle. The repair in the first pic has the square stock on top of the pivot tube, which will prevent it from bending forward, allowing the plow to go back past the stops like yours is doing.
To replace the sleeves, they need to be cut out and new ones welded on.
You can see more of the area in question here:

You can see that the sector is slightly bent. The stop looks good.
