What is the coil- How do you know if one is bad?

Recently got an emergency kit for the Boss Snowplow. It came with a coil. I see where the coils are on the pump. It looks like there are 4 of them (RT3 Smarthitch 2). How do you know if one goes bad and/ or which one to replace?

Don't you have the install manuals that came with your plow? If not get them online at Boss's website. They will show you which valve does what. You can move the one suspected bad coil to another valve and see if that valve stops functioning.
