I have a 1973 4x4 chevrolet pickup with a 82 body on it. I want to upgrade the meyer's plow on it to a new one with a new lift, blade, etc.. . Is this even possible? This is going to be a spring through fall project. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Anythings possible, but i"m in the same boat as you. I have a 75 frame with a 85 body (Cab) You're gonna have to fabricate your own mounts, as the new frames are diffrent. Even the heavy duty trucks that were built up until 1990(I think) had the headgear that stayed on the truck. The headlight wiring will work because Chevy used the HB2 configuration up till 1998. Did you use the 73 front end on your truck, or is the whole body an 82?? And why Meyers??

Most plow makers have quich attack type mounts for the older GM's

Thanks guys. The truck was my dad's. He passed away this summer and I didn't get a chance to talk to him about the plow. This is what I do know about it. The 82 body is the third one that's been on the 73 frame.( Snow and Salt here in Michigan hasn't been kind) The plow came with the truck when my dad bought it in 1978. No particular reason for the Meyer's plow that is just what is on it right now. I had the mount on the truck break on me a couple weeks ago and had to weld some angle iron on it to get me through for now. I want to pretty much put an all new plow and mount on it. Eventually I want to get a 70's body from the south with a blown engine or whatever to make it a nice truck again, but for right now I just want to have a plow that i won't have to worry about come this next winter.

Western still makes a uni-mount and even offers a ultra-mount for the 73-87 frames. Just to let you know whats out there.

I believe that is true with the western, but the last time I looked at a Meyer CD, they did'nt have a listing for classic style chevy. Although I have been wrong one other time in my life:rolleyes: LOL See, we'll get him over to western somehow!!! By the way, If you're serious I have a beautiful 85 cab(actually whole truck) with a blown motor I'm parting out if you're interested. I'm right outside of Detroit.

I appreciate all of the help guys. I wish i was in the market now for a body promower. I'm a student in college so I'm still looking to the future. Everything is pretty much plans right now but I wanted to get any information I could before I got started and ran into problems. Thanks again
