Can anyone help with instructions on changing the oil on the RT3 Straightblade?
The more detail the better.
Also, what curb guard is recommended (8-6 straight blade- 6" cutting edge)?
THanks.
Jason
First thing for the curb guards,,, Is it a super duty or standard plow?
to change the fluid
Detatch from the truck in the angled position
Remove the drain plug from the bottom of the tank and allow to drain
Wipe off the magnetic plug
After the fluid is drained reinstall the plug and fill the resivour
Plug in the electrical connections to the truck
Disconnect the hose that goes to the lift cylinder and put it in a collection container.
Push the raise buttond for about 3 seconds to push the old oil out of the line and then reconnect the line.
With the line reconnected install plow on truck and raise the plow. Block it under the A frame to prevent it from falling and causing injury
Disconnect the hose on the cylinder that the plow is angled to (closed cylinder), put it into your catch jug and push the button on the controler (oposite direction of angle) for about 3 seconds to purge old fluid from the line. Reconnect the line.
Disconnect the line on the opposite cylinder (the extended one) and put a catch pan under the cylinder and manually push the blade by hand to the other side slowly allowing the oil to fall into the catch pan. Put the hose onto your catch jug and push the button(opposite direction of angle).
Reinstall the hose. Angle plow left and right several times. Remove blocking from under plow. Set plow on ground and check and refill fluid level.
Wipe everything off... Cycle plow up, down, left and right several times and check for leaks. No leaks and you are done.
