Were supposed to get 3" my late afternoon, then change to icy mix, then change to rain - what a sloppy mess. The only good part is the 30' rooster tails coming off the plow!;)

Channel 30 news is now showing 5 to 8 inches for my area then changing to sleet and then a long period of freezing rain.Sounds like a real mess coming.
Got less than 2" along the Fairfield County coast, now raining heavily. Calling for up to 3" of rain in some spots !

Had maybe 1 inch here in Stamford, CT and a little sleet ... NOW raining pretty hard, but its supposed to rain even heavier as the day progresses.
Hit my commercials, but didnt do the residentials. The rain will probably wash it all away:(
About an inch here so far.
But it's changing over to sleet now, and then maybe freezing rain later today they say.

a few of my residentials called and asked why I didnt plow them, after I explained that we didnt get enough to hit the 2" trigger and that the rain was expected to wash everything away, they asked me to come plow there driveways anyway.
One even asked me to apply salt.
Guess it pays to be honest :D

I actually got to plow for this one it started to rain at noon and I measured 3-3.5 in . So after school ,I was plowing . I had 10 customers beat me to it . ( I need to have a talk with them , I want customers who want my service on a regular basis) Its kinda strange the guys are at work and the wife is out in the pouring rain busting her back shoveling rain filled snow to save thirty bucks . Those 10 drives(400-500K homes) were done as I drove by but the city had gone by and windrowed some nice concrete for them to finish up

Bill I had one like that so you know what I did when we got a big storm I just drove right by ,didn't call to tell them anything and took them off the list. The people either want the service or not.Unless they specify don't come at 1-2" then that is different.Funny how the people with the expensive homes do that

I have a customer that the last 2 storms their drive was plowed when we went by. Since we have a contract, I billed them for the plowing. Will have to see if they pay it.LOL
