I HAVE A 2000 DODGE RAM 2500 4WD 60,000 MILES. LATELY I NOTICED WHEN PLOWING AND I HAVE THE TRUCK IN 4WHEEL DRIVE, THE SHIFTER AT THE TRANSFER CASE WHEN YOU ENGAGE THE 4WD TEND TO POP FORWARD EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE. THE 4WD LIGHT SHOW BUT SHIFTER IS FORWARD NOT ALL THE WAY BACK IN 4WD. WHY DOES IT DO THIS? I'M CONCERNED. IS THE TRANS GOING? I HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON IT 75, 000 MILES OR TIL NOVEMBER1 2004. WHAT SHOULD I DO.
I APPRECIATE YOU HELP OR ANY ONE WHO MIGHT KNOW.

It's not the tranny. It's either the transfer case shift linkage\adjusment,or the transfer case has an internal problem.

Most likely it is just the linkage is out of adjustment.
