I can't remember who,but someone requested pics of my rear bumper.
It's 3X4 .250 wall tube,with 1/2 plate for the ends.The mounting brackets are 2X2 .250 angle,mounted with 6 1/2 bolts.It's plenty strong.I have run into walls,and yanked out loaders with it and it doesn't even move.
It also has integral 2X2 receivers for mounting a tailgate salter. It just drops in place.

6. Last one. This is another ballast bumper I run when I have the 12 foot Western on.It's a 4X4 tube filled with concrete. It weighs 300 lbs,and fits in the hitch receiver. There are two small brackets to stabilize it to the bumper utilizing the factory holes.I used Teflon washers to protect the chrome on the bumper.
If you look closely you can see the rubber dock bumpers mounted on the backside, and the orange plastic hockey balls for markers on the uprights.
It used to have a u shaped piece welded on the back to protect the tailgate salter, but it has been removed,as we no longer run them anymore.

Wyldman, thanks for the pics. I like the reciever tube with the ballast. Are you worried about tweaking your reciever with that bar, if you back into something? I could use a few hundred more pounds of ballast.

I have hit to many things to count with the ballast bumper, and it has yet to tweak the factory hitch.
I did have a guy rearend me @ 90 degrees to the bumper, and it just twisted the bumper a bit,and slightly bent the hitch to one side.It was a very hard hit,and I believe the bumper saved the back end of the truck. If I need to replace the hitch,it's a lot cheaper than a new box\tail lights\tailgate,etc.The damage to the bumper was easily fixed, yet his truck was pretty much a write off.Tore it open like a sardine can.
