I've got a wierd quirk with my Fisher. Sometimes the power to the Fishstic wont turn on. The controler lights up but the power button wont light up and control the plow. The headlights work on the plow at this time. I noticed that sometimes it dosnt seem to like it when I turn on my headlights or parking lights. It will either turn off the controller or not let you turn it on. The lights work at this time though. Sometimes I can turn on my lights and it will work fine. I have auto headlights and havent been able to see a pattern if it was whan they want to be on and I turn them on or want to be off and they get turned on by me. I havent been able to see any pattern. Recently I parked my truck and shut it off. Restarted and no power/checked all conections and played with the lights and stilll nothing. Turned off the truck and restarted and the controller worked when I hit the power.
To my knowledge I hooked everything up right, maybe my security or my auto off stuff is flaking it out and I havent seen the pattern yet?
My turbo timer maybe have something to do with it?
I have an 03 Chevy, and a 03 Fhisher EZ-V.
Anyidea whats happening here? It happens so infrequently that I havent seen a pattern. Anyone have a similar situation???

How long have you had it? I have heard that the panel in the Fishstick controller can wear out. Have you greased your connections lately? It might be a combo of things. Hope I helped!:)

My best guess is the circut board in your controller is going bad. I have had the same symptoms you described and have found that a new board ($160) was the only solution. I have replaced this board twice in four and half years along with a wiring harness. This is only a guess but its also a place you can ask a dealer to check along with the wiring harness.

I'd grease all the electrical connectors and check the small gauge red wire that feed the power to the controller - make sure that it is not loose or chaffed/cut and the fuse is still good. Do the same with ground wire too. If everything check out good, then I would guess the next thing to check is the board circuit which is something you may have to check with your Fisher dealer.

its new this season and I grease em or check it before the storm each time. only plowed with it 5 times and had it on/off the truck maybe 10 times and it has done it since new. dosnt do it often and it used to only do it with regards to the lights, this was the first time turning the lights to the manual mode didnt get it to work again. When it happened I tried the lights then hoped out to see the lights on and at this time I took all the conections apart and blew in em but noticed no water and plenty of grease and squished em back together. Still wouldnt turn on so as a last resort I turned off the truck and restarted and imediatly it worked.
I figured I would ask you guys to see if maybe it was some wierd quirk with the 03 chevy and all its auto on off fetures
I didnt want to drag it into my dealer and take up thier time if it was something simple I missed. And in the past it always was related to my headlights/parklights going from the auto mode to headlights or parking lights on.
When you say wiring harness do you mean the harness going from the controler quick release deal to the isalation module? I checked to make sure that the controler nut was screwed all the way in and it was when I had to restart the truck this last time.
I would have checked the power feed from the ING source but the controler's back light lights up. The power button just dosnt turn red and the plow dosnt work. Or am I all we here? Or is it the power feed going into the isolation module?
Guess its time to take it to my dealer and have em take a look at it. Hopefully it wont die on me when I need it.

Sounds like a bad ground to me.

If it's an 03, sounds to me like it's dealers problem to fix.

I did the install.......
I was mostly wondering if it somehow had something to do with all the whacky auto on/off stuff of my truck.
The more I think of it though the controller always gets juice since the backlight comes on.....its just that somewere along the way the controller or the module dosnt recognize that the plow is attached???
