I have just installed an older 24.90 snoway predetor snowplow on my truck, and I was wondering if there was an adjustment to slow down how fast the plow drops. Will it slow down when it gets colder out? I have always had western plows, so this snoway is new to me. Also I have never 'used' a plow when it is 85* out either, so the fluid is probably thinner than it would be when it is cold. Thanks for your help.

The older snoways had no drop speed adjustment other than the internal of the drop valve construction. There are several after market valves that can be put on or an inline reducer like is used on the Boss plows to reduce drop speed.
Let me know if you want one or need more info on them. Jerre

Thanks Jerre. That would explain why I couldn't find any info on how to adjust it. Before I add anything, I will wait and see how it works when I actually use it, and the temps are a lot colder.

While it is nice and warm, change the fluid, check the filters, hoses, fittings, etc. lube, clean, paint, and slather with :ff.
If down pressure equipped, be sure that is off since when it is on it will slam down pretty hard. (especially in the summer)
Also check the king pin (there is a retention bolt and plate on top) and the mold board anchors, which sometimes work loose.
