Upon finally cleaning plow I realized the damage i did was much greater than i had thought. During the last storm i cleared the back section of a lot i had never done before. The owner changed his mind from the original plan of what was to be cleared. Anyways I caught a curb stop that was installed quite well into the asphalt as you can see. At first i thought i just scratched the powder coating and put a nice dent into the mold board. But as you can see in what I circled in red there is a crease running the full width of the wing. The boxed section on the back is now also creased. I guess my point of this post is...Structurally is the wing gonna be okay???

Well all plows take a hit now and then and some take more of a hit than others and most of them get a little tweaked. I know of two fisher Vs like yours that are creased and they still perform and run fine. I would say at the most you'll just have to deal with looking at the crease, but from what I can see structurally it should be fine.

Did you also pop the grade 8 bolts holding on the cutting edge on the moldboard or did you take them off?
It looks like the moldboard is ok but pictures can be deceiving
Here goes the trip edge vs. the full trip discussion!

I agree with you labsnducks But by the looks of those marks even if he had a full trip blade i dont think it would of helped because it hit high and if it hits that high the blade wouldnt trip on a western so either way full trip or not you would of had the same damage. Hate to say. But if it hit lower then the full trip would of saved it. And full trips dont come any any V-blade

so true 76chevyman,
I hit one of those cement stops (from the side) last year, I sent it flying 20-25 feet and it had 2' of rebar sticking out of it, I thought for sure that the Western POLY blade was TRASHED but luckly it triped, the truck came to an abrupt stop the engine shut off, and as i peeled my face off the windshield...
I was thankfull for the full trip!!

The plow has not had any edge installed on it yet. I am still in the process of wearing down the factory trip edge. Depending on how the u-edge works for me on the other V. A u-edge might be going on this one too. LAbsnducks, how about that salt??

the moldboard looks ok I believe the structural strength is from the ribs etc behind the skin
