Just so there can be another Meyer problem to search for I'm wondering how the C valve system works. Can someone explain the principles of the system? If there is no magnetism but the green wire is live does the entire valve unit have to be repalced or just the coil.

If you have no magnetism at the coil, when it's powered and grounded, then the coil is bad.

Thanks Chris, there is power to the green wire and I presume that since it goes up and down, it is grounded. As you know I broke down with one so put the spare pump on, oddly enough that one also didn't have magnetism. I've ordered the 2 assemblies but am still thinking both can't be working, there's got to be something else. More snow coming and the parts take TWO DAYS to get here.

Anywhere in BC that you break down on a fri. after 4 with any name brand plow and you're screwed, Calgary or Vancouver, the Monday call gets you next day delivery. That is not product service, there's got to be a better way!!!

while applying power (angleing right) hold a screwdriver to the nut on the top of the coil and u will feel if the magnet is working or not. If u figure out the magnet is working then it must be an issue with the valve.

Just cause the pump is grounded does not mean that u dont still have a ground issue at the coil.

Thanks Jshep I just got a new "C" coil in as well a a "C" valve. I will try the coil first. The one that I have on now has no magnetism.
thankfully we have had no snow since the last 12" dump of snow to sleet to freezing rain to sleet to rain storm. What a heavy push.

Well, put the new "C" coil on still no angle. Re checked the power, there was power. Went to the local small electrical outlet in town and checked the voltage. About 5.5 volts. Found the poor connection and away I went. I had just checked for power not voltage, obviously there wasn't enough voltage to activate the coil. Oh Well I'm happy as all getout, I'm back at work. :) Thanks for the input guys.

The Meyer/Diamond website has the repair manual that you can either view or download for free, it has some very easy to understand diagrams on how everything works, the download is quite large however, I just printed what I needed.

Thanks ClintSinger I'll look at it when the next problem arises, and welcome to the site. I wonder what the canuck/yankee(reb) percentage is at this site. I'm beginning to think we are becoming well represented.
