Task bar question

How do I go about getting the small icons down on the task bar next to the Start button? I'm moving everything to a different computer and am trying to get it set up like the old one.

What OS?

It is called the "Quick Launch" bar. Right click on the task bar and be sure that the Quick Launch is checked, then you can simply drag shortcuts onto it. This works for XP, not sure about Vista.
