I currently have a Honda 621 which is a great little snowblower, but I eat up those rubber paddles and cutting edge every two storms. I need to purchase a 2 stage snowblower. I have picked up another large townhouse community that has approx. 1 mile of sidewalks. I am looking for a very good quality 2 stage unit? What are your thoughts of a tracked machine vs. a wheeled machine? Is there one brand and model that you have been happy with. I have been very happy with my honda I just wish the cutting edges would last longer. I can see the need for both units, so It is time for a large 2 stage.

If your eating up your paddles and scraper bar on your HS621 every 2 storms that sounds like a problem. Sounds like someone is sitting on auger housing trying to catch a free ride. I use my hs621 about 4hrs continuously every storm and still get a season out of it here in Ct. at least 20 storms. Have you tried adjusting your scraper bar? if you want a good 2 stage get another honda preferably a track machine. I have an HS1132tas I recommend putting on the commercial skids it will track better and they are a lot beefier. The skids that come with it are not that good for commercial work and wear fast. The commercial ones mount on the side of the auger housing and it needs to be drilled first but it's pretty simple. Its not the fastest unit but it will easily throw the 2' drifts 50' it works great for uphill situations due to the gas assisted auger height adjustment, no more auger hopping common complaints of the wheeled units.

The track machines are great as long as you are going in a straight line and don't have to back up often. Our 15 year old tracked HS55 hasn't met anything it couldn't handle yet.

You mentioned commercial skids, what are they I haven't seen them on the honda site.

I have the HS928TAS, and right now I almost can't stand using it on a concrete driveway because of the way it tracks, it goes in anything but a straight line. Seriously considering selling it and buying the wheeled version.
